Stefco was established by Marcel Stevens in 1996. Although he had been trained for the educational sector, he found himself in a clothes reconditioning firm after holding several directorships in the business sector. Because his ideas for example, those concerning a better spread of work over the various seasons ? were not shared by the current management board, Marcel founded his own company in September 1996. He established his business in a building of 2500 m2 in Ede and focused on logistics in the broad sense of the term, not only on seasonal work such as clothing but on various activities throughout the year.
Stefco was active in stock management, handling and logistics involving a large variety of goods, such as lens cleaning liquid, prams, Christmas hampers, books, records, bridal fashion, swimwear, lingerie and garden furniture. In this way a clientele evolved generating work evenly spread throughout the year. Growth did not remain elusive. At the end of 2001 Stefco had four warehouses in Ede with a total floor area of approximately 8,000 m2.
In order to boost efficiency the signal was given that year to start construction of a new logistics centre in Andelst, where all operations were to be concentrated under a single roof. The new Stefco complex was officially opened on 1 July 2002.
Stefco specialises in the storage and transshipment of goods for large retail companies. Goods are stored and are delivered on call in packages or on pallets. In addition, we can provide services which vary from sorting and order picking to packaging, labelling and pricing. Apart from this, we have an assembly department, where goods can be assembled or set up. Being able to complement its permanent workforce temporarily with flexible staff, Stefco can perform the most varied work quickly and efficiently.
